My week-long Bantayan-Malapascua-Mactan-Cebu City Escapade (Part 2)

Part 2: A Glimpse of Malapascua Island

Malapascua Island, Cebu

at the shore - Malapascua Island, Cebu

The second leg of our week-long honeymoon trip is going to Malapascua Island for 2D/1N. It was short since we need to get back to Cebu city the day after. Unlike Bantayan Island, we need to take a big boat which costs differently depending on the boat operators. Remember to HAGGLE! It only costs 80php but sometimes they'll asked you 200php or 100php. Just HAGGLE! There are also small boat that will transfer you from the shore to the big boat which costs 10php-20php.

Since we arrived late at the afternoon in the port, the boat trip was very wavy. You can feel your in a mini anchors away ride. the trip was around an hour. From the shore you can see a lot of hotel & restaurants in the beach front. Walking distance from the shore, we got a 700php budget room for two which has a fan, private cr and a bed.

Since it was merely 10 weeks after the typhoon yolanda, there are no wi-fi in the island. We had our dinner at Malapascua Legend Restaurant which costs as around 500php for a buffalo wing and sisig. There is also a singer playing guitar until 9:30pm in the restaurants, he plays old to new songs, from Barry Manilow to Jason Mraz to Bruno Mars.

Unlike Bantayan, Malapascua is more romantic, lively and well-lighted, also more expensive too.

We had our breakfast at Malapascua Legend which serves free unlimited  drinks (coffee, tea, juices) only at breakfast. we ordered a cheese omelet with bread toast, mushroom soap and chocolate pancake with mango. pancake is the best!!! our breakfast costs 400php.

Around 10am, we were ready to kissed Malapascua Island goodbye. Beware of the people offering a ride to Maya port for 150php+++ saying there's no trip in the port. there is a regular trip at the port near the blue corals hotel & restaurant. the boat to Maya port will cost you 80 php plus small boat transfer from shore to big boat for 20php.

At the Port there are busses and vans going to Cebu City. Van is 180php/head and bus starts at 160php for non-aircon.
